Enabling and Disabling Services

Follow

Speedway firmware release 4.12.0 and later allows the user to enable and disable services via the RShell command.  Also the telnet service is disabled now by default so the user will need to enable it in RShell.

The following services can be enabled or disabled.

  • FTP
  • SSH
  • HTTP
  • Telnet

Example: Enable telnet with the following steps:

Step 1: Connect to RShell using an ssh tool like ‘Putty’

Step 2: From RShell enable telnet:

> config network telnet enable
Status='0,Success'

Step 3: From RShell verify that Telnet is enabled

> show network telnet
Status='0,Success'
ServiceEnabled='True'

Other Example: From RShell disable HTTP

> config network HTTP disable
Status='0,Success'
